    ArtReach's 2023 Artist Creation Project grant opens in 2 weeks! 💸📝 This grant supports the creation of art projects by emerging artists aged 16-29 from equity-deserving populations in Toronto who experience systemic barriers to accessing professional arts opportunities. These grants are available thanks to our amazing partnership with the Toronto Arts Council. Learn more about this partnership here. ELIGIBILITY This grant is for… Emerging artists aged 16-29 from equity-deserving communities who live in Toronto (this includes only the City of Toronto, Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke, not the GTA) Those who have not received funding from an arts council/ any substantial arts funding The creation of new artistic works in any discipline Projects that require up to $1,000 in funding and will be completed within a 4-month period (January to April 2024) Artists with a track record of finishing projects and following through on goals This grant is not for… Workshops, programming, or events Artists who: live and work outside of Toronto, are under 16 or over 29, or have received a grant from an arts council/ other substantial funding for their arts practice Promotion, merchandise, or duplication Projects that will take more than 4 months to complete Professional development Parts of projects (must be a complete art project) Projects that have already been started HOW TO APPLY: Head to artreach.org/projectgrant to read our Program Guidelines and FAQs, confirm your eligibility, access the application form, and sign up for supports. The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at 11:59pm. We do not accept late submissions. Results will be announced in mid-November, and funding will be disbursed in early December. These sessions will cover a review of the program guidelines, an overview of the application form, and tips for creating a strong submission. The three entities coincide as a platform to empower marginalized 2SLGBTQ+ BIPOC/women to become self-actualized artists, activists and entrepreneurs, as we primarily serve marginalized communities in Northwest Toronto.   • Grant Writing 101: Learning From The ArtReach Granting Program

    Since 2006, ArtReach has reviewed over 1,200 applications submitted to our granting program. We've learned so much about what makes a strong application, and want to share this knowledge with you! In this virtual workshop, ArtReach's Director will walk you through best practices for creating a strong grant application for a community arts program. We'll go through common application mistakes and tips for avoiding them, meeting eligibility criteria, how to create a strong budget and workplan, and support with developing a successful arts program. While some content in this session will be specific to the ArtReach grant application, much will be applicable to grant writing in general.   • CHECK OUT UPCOMING GRANTS FROM THE YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES FUND!

    The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) offers grants to grassroots groups and collaboratives who want to improve the well-being of youth and families with a focus on Indigenous and Black communities. Through three grant streams, YOF supports projects that are led by and for the priority population the project aims to serve—this is a key eligibility requirement for YOF grants. Shared identities and lived experiences are essential to building relationships with those benefiting from the work. Youth Innovations and Family Innovations Streams Two types of grants are offered: Test grants for newly formed groups or those who are looking to test a new idea or approach. Test grants provide up to $100,000 per year, for 1 to 3 years. Scale grants are for established groups that have delivered two or more years of community programming. Scale grants provide up to $150,000 per year, for 2 to 3 years. The Expression of Interest (EOI) deadline for the Youth Innovations Stream and Family Innovations Stream is August 23, 2023, at 5 PM ET Submissions for EOI open May 31, 2023 Only shortlisted groups will be invited to complete the Grant Application. Youth Innovations Scale Grant - For youth-led grassroots groups and youth-adult partnerships that have over two years of experience delivering direct programming to youth. Now, they want to strengthen and grow their work, expand their reach or enhance the impact of their existing project. Youth Innovations Test Grant - For youth-led grassroots groups & youth-adult partnerships. They can pilot a new project idea, research an issue or new concept, or strategize around an issue affecting youth to improve the social and economic well-being of youth. Family Innovations Scale Grant - For groups led by parents, guardians and caregivers that have over two years of experience delivering direct programming to other parents, guardians and caregivers. The group is looking to expand their reach, and enhance and strengthen their impact through proven community projects Family Innovations Test Grant - Grassroots groups led by parents, guardians and caregivers can apply for funding to pilot a new project idea, research an issue or new concept, or strategize around an issue to support other parents, guardians, and caregivers. It’s an opportunity for parents, guardians and caregivers to address issues that impact their wellbeing and that of their families System Innovations Stream This grant is for collaboratives who create new frameworks that challenge systemic barriers for youth and improve access to services, design new approaches and create shifts in systems. Grants support organizations, along with grassroots groups, partners and communities to come together and deeply reflect on the issues that youth face, and design approaches that will have lasting impact on systems.     Do you have a passion for improving your community? Are you a youth-led group (ages 15-29) with a great idea that needs funding? The City of Toronto’s Identify ‘N Impact (INI) Grant Program continues to support emerging (new, small, grassroots) youth-led groups. The application deadline has been extended to Friday, May 5th, 2023 at 12pm (noon) Learn more and apply here! The purpose of the Identify ‘N Impact Grant Program is to: Help promote youth engagement and community safety in the City of Toronto Support youth to turn ideas into action Support emerging (new, small, grassroots) youth-led groups and collaborative youth-led networks Motivate and encourage Most Vulnerable People (MVP) youth to become involved in their communities Eligibility Your group is eligible to apply if it: Is youth-led and includes at least three or more youth, ages 15 to 29 years old. Is based in Toronto (use the Find Your Neighbourhood tool to find out which neighbourhood you live in). Is a non-profit that is proposing project activities that will run in Toronto only (Unless specifically for Indigenous-based cultural activities outside of Toronto as per the City of Toronto Grants Policy) For the INI grant program, a group is considered “youth-led” if the following criteria are met: A majority of the group’s leadership are youth between the ages of 15 to 29 years old. The group makes decisions about its activities independent from any other community organization. Youth are the leaders in the project planning/design, management and delivery. ArtReach's granting program supports community-based arts programs by and for young people 13-29 from equity-deserving populations in Toronto. Applications will be accepted until February 1st, 2023 at 11:59pm. This funding is available thanks to ArtReach’s partnership with the Toronto Arts Council.
